Pixie is a friendly, cuddly, playful, energetic, fun kitty! Such a pretty Ragdoll Siamese mix. Those gorgeous BLUE EYES! As special needs goes, she easy! Pixie needs a non-seafood diet. She's currently on Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein Dry which she needs to stay on indefinitely. We'll send her home with a starter bag. She also eats Core Tiny Tasters Chicken. Pixie desperately wants to play with the other cats she's fostered with, but they're too boring! She acts more like a teenager, rather than 6 years old. Another active kitty would be a good match for her. Or maybe a dog? Although, she'll probably be purrfectly happy being an only cat. Read more about Pixie's condition. Pixie came to us constantly spinning in circles. She rarely stopped. It was horrible to watch. She'd circle frantically. We all felt so bad for her. Turns out she had a terrible ear infection and also a polyp in her left ear that was messing with her inner ear causing her to spin. We took fish out of her diet due to potential allergens. The spinning decreased but didn't go away. After some medications, the polyp reduced in size but again, it didn't go away and she continued to spin, although it was much less than before. The polyp was removed via surgery and lo and behold the spinning stopped! She's a little hard of hearing because the polyp grew through her left ear drum. We originally thought she could hear out of her right ear, but evidently not. The general assumption is that a food allergy caused ear inflammation and the polyp. To keep Pixie from getting additional polyps or ear issues, she must remain on the special diet. The Royal Canin Hydrolyzed Protein dry food is not cheap. Unless you can afford to pay $143 for 17lb bag of dry food, this is not the cat for you. The 17lb bag does last a while. She only get 1/4 of a cup once day. She gets the Core chicken twice a day. She could eat only the Core chicken wet food and no dry. The Core is $1.34 per packet on Chewy.
